Music

Thanks to its ethnic and cultural diversity, Senegal and the Gambia are one of most well-known African countries for music. Indeed, its music is known around the world, with noted artists including Youssou N´Dour, Baba Maal and Ismaël Lo. Given this background, SenExperience+ has set up a dream project for those interested in music and that is to learn how to play typical African musical instruments, such as the djembé, the sabaar and the tama (types of drum).. Our percussion classes are accompanied by dance classes for the national Senegalese dance, Mbalax. Sometimes dance excursions to the beach are also organised.

9 hours per week = 3 hours per day = 2 hours of percussion and 1 hour of dance.

15 hours per week = 3 hours per day = 2 hours of teaching time and 1 hour of exercises.

”Life is about meaningful experiences, not possessions. And no experience is more fulfilling than making a difference where it really counts – as a volunteer in one of our communities.”
