Program

Healthcare

Working in the Senegalese or Gambian healthcare system will enable you to get a high level view of the issues in the country. During your placement in a hospital, you will work alongside doctors who have local knowledge and speak the local languages. Your scope of work will be wide and varied. All of the centres where are volunteers are placed are well-equipped and provide a service to people from the local town and surrounding villages. During your free time, you will also have the opportunity to work in the infirmaries of local schools or even that of our local centre for street children.

20 hours per week = 4 hours per day.

The age of the pupils of the colleges and schools where our volunteers will teach is between 15 and 19 years. However, the possibility exists to give English or French lessons to children in the CEM2 class (last year of primary school) who are between 12 and 15 years old, and to the children of the neighbourhood where you are accomodated.

20 hours per week = 4 hours per day = 2 hours in each class (different levels).

”Life is about meaningful experiences, not possessions. And no experience is more fulfilling than making a difference where it really counts – as a volunteer in one of our communities.”
